We are undertaking a large-scale AdaptSMU hardware rollout across BHP WAIO operations in the Pilbara and are seeking an experienced Field Installation Technician to support this critical deployment program.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on, site-based contract role supporting installation of AdaptSMU hardware across fixed and mobile mining assets.

You will be responsible for delivering safe, accurate and high-quality installations to Veridapt and BHP WAIO standards — ensuring every install is completed right the first time.

This role suits technicians who are comfortable in mining environments, work with discipline and attention to detail, and take pride in high-volume, quality installation work.

What you'll be doing':

• Installing AdaptSMU hardware on mobile and fixed mining assets (approx 15-20 units a day)

• Ensuring correct mounting, placement and power connection (where applicable)

• Maintaining consistent workmanship standards

• Conducting basic commissioning checks (BLE range, power status, mounting integrity)

• Verifying correct asset association and tag identification

• Supporting light troubleshooting and rework where required

• Accurately completing the SMU Installation Register

• Capturing installation data and photos using digital tools

• Flagging any discrepancies or asset-specific constraints

• Complying with Veridapt and BHP WAIO safety and operational procedures

• Participating in toolbox talks, pre-starts and inductions

• Maintaining strong safety awareness and hazard reporting

What We’re Looking For

• Experience installing hardware, electrical, telemetry or vehicle-mounted equipment

• Mine site experience highly regarded

• Ability to follow technical instructions precisely

• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy

• Comfortable working outdoors in operational mining environments

• Ability to work independently and manage daily installation targets

Mandatory Requirements

• Construction White Card

• WAIO Contractor General Induction (or ability to obtain)

• Completion of relevant WAIO LMS modules (via ERMS)

• Ability to pass site medical and drug & alcohol screening

• Valid Australian Driver’s License

Travel & Roster

• FIFO from Perth or Residential to Newman

• 8 days on / 6 days off

• 7-day work cycle while on swing

• Based at BHP WAIO operations in the Pilbara
